Democracy, what is democracy? Really, who defines the word? When i think of democracy i think of government, its just the first thing to pop into my head because I have heard it used in the same category many of times. Well in the dictionary democracy is defined as:
Democracy-"A government by the people in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system"
O! OK so we as Americans are a democracy! We all as Americans have the supreme power to vote, and if we chose not to we can give our vote to our Representatives who will vote for who we want (most of the time, they never have to if they don't want to, but usually they follow what you ask).

Do all people in the United States really have the right to vote? What if they have the right to vote but only a small percentage of people actually vote? Then aren't we ruled by a minority? Is this a democracy?
